Why am I getting a network connection error when attempting to configure a device using Bluetooth on the WatchDog Mobile app?

In certain circumstances it is necessary to have Internet connectivity on your mobile device in order to retrieve up-to-date configuration data from the SpecConnect server. If this access is not available when required, a Device Error will occur preventing further progress attempting to configure a WatchDog device via Bluetooth.

This issue can be avoided in most instances by navigating to the configuration screen for any WatchDog device (when Internet access is available) at least once prior to attempting to utilize Bluetooth device configuration. This will allow the required configuration data to be downloaded from the server so that it is available during subsequent device configuration using a Bluetooth connection without adequate Internet connectivity.
